Overview

Cover My Ride is a mobile app for Australian drivers. It shows driver-friendly locations on a map and offers optional ride-group coordination for sharing customer ride jobs within private groups. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

Account information (Rides feature)

If you sign in or create an account, we collect and store:

• Email address and authentication credentials (handled by Supabase Auth)
• Display name and mobile phone number on your profile
• Ride points balance and ride-group membership
• Ride jobs you post, bids you place, job status, and related messages (e.g. join requests)

You must sign in to use Rides. The map can be browsed without an account for public points of interest.

Phone number sharing

Phone numbers are used only to coordinate rides within groups you join:

• When you request to join a group, your phone is shared with that group’s admin for approval.
• On ride jobs, customer phone numbers are shared only with the poster and the driver assigned after a bid is accepted.
• Your profile phone is not shown publicly to all app users.

Location

With your permission, the app accesses your device location while you use the app to:

• Centre the map on your position
• Find nearby toilets, fuel stations, mosques, halal food, EV chargers, and other POIs
• Bias address search and route estimates when posting ride jobs

We do not collect location in the background. The app requests foreground location only (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION).

Ride job details

When you post or bid on jobs in a group, we store addresses, pickup times, fare amounts, optional passenger name/phone, notes, and bid messages as needed to operate the feature.

Technical data

Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Google Maps Platform) may process IP addresses, device type, and standard request logs needed to operate the service. Auth session tokens are stored locally on your device using secure app storage.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and maintain your account
• Show relevant map results near you or your selected map area
• Operate ride groups, job posting, bidding, and limited contact exchange between participants
• Maintain security and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and ride-group data while your account is active. You may request account deletion by emailing support@driveressentials.store. Some records may be kept where required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls through our cloud providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Cover My Ride is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including Australian Privacy Act principles), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Contact us at the email above.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
